Introducing TUI
TUI is a leading global travel company, offering a wide range of holiday packages and travel experiences. With a strong online presence and travel agent stores across various retail locations, TUI were looking for a solution to attract families and young adults to explore key TUI destinations and holiday packages first-hand. Channel Assist selected TUI Travel Agent Retail Stores within six identified shopping centres that matched these target demographics.
The Problem
TUI faced the challenge of reaching their target audience in a crowded retail environment. Specifically, some of their travel agent stores were located within other retail outlets, limiting their visibility. As a result, they needed an impactful solution that would not only draw shoppers into their stores and enhance brand value. The solution needed to capture valuable data for future marketing opportunities. Additionally, the solution had to be sustainable and reusable to achieve the campaign goals. Given the busy nature of the shopping centres, it was also crucial to meet strict compliance and performance standards to ensure the safety of all visitors.
The Solution: TUI’s Interactive Roadshow Experience
To address these challenges, we worked collaboratively with TUI to deliver a vibrant and Interactive Roadshow Experience that captivated and engaged visitors. Our goal was to deliver a fun, immersive experience that would leave a lasting impression. The bespoke multifunctional event stand featured eye-catching graphics, interactive photo booths, green screens and themed props. Visitors could be whisked away to paradise, allowing them to create lasting memories and build a strong emotional connection with the TUI brand. The combination of visually striking design and engaging activities made the experience both memorable and impactful.
The roadshow successfully increased footfall to TUI travel agents within the shopping centres, showcasing the fun and excitement of booking a holiday through a personal, interactive manner. By offering free photo prints within the store, we encouraged visitors who participated in the stand’s activities to visit the TUI stores, further reinforcing the brand connection.
To meet the objective of data capture, QR codes were printed on the back of each photo, linking to the specific TUI store’s Facebook page. TUI staff encouraged visitors to share their photos, driving brand engagement on Facebook and increasing brand awareness across this platform. Visitors were also emailed a URL allowing them to share and download their photos. These methods not only facilitated valuable data capture for future marketing purposes but also provided a clear measure of the campaign’s effectiveness.

Sustainability and Reusability
Designed with sustainability in mind, every component of the stand was chosen for its durability and potential for future use. Built to endure six weeks of transport, installation, and heavy usage, the display remained visually appealing throughout the campaign. This reusable design achieved an impressive 80% cost savings for TUI, enhancing both sustainability and economic efficiency.
Driving Foot Traffic and Enhancing Brand Engagement
The pop-up event successfully attracted 2,029 visitors across six locations, resulting in a 168% average increase in store footfall. TUI reported 85.5% conversion rate (the number of people that went to the store to have their photos printed).
Capturing Valuable Customer Data
The integration of QR codes and interactive elements not only boosted social media engagement but also facilitated valuable data capture for future marketing efforts. 1,012 visitors gave their email addresses to obtain a URL to their photo and allowing TUI to contact them for marketing purposes.
