Introducing BOSE

BOSE, a leading audio technology company, wanted to enhance their retail presence by installing new Soundbar & Speaker Displays across 155 Currys stores in the UK and Ireland. As BOSE’s top European partner, Channel Assist was selected for their proven track record of high compliance and SLA achievement.

The Problem

BOSE faced a tight deadline due to Currys’ embargo on installations during the Christmas period and delays in display manufacturing. Normally, such a project would require 4 weeks, but the timeframe was compressed to just 3 weeks. Missing this deadline would push installations into January, impacting visibility during the critical holiday period. Additionally, the tight schedule constrained both the manufacturing and delivery processes, leaving only a brief window for training to ensure consistent installation.

The Solution for Delivering Impactful Retail Results

To overcome these challenges and deliver impactful retail results, we collaborated with BOSE to streamline project management, logistics, and installation processes. We mobilised 10 two-person teams to cover 155 stores within the condensed timeframe. Key strategies included:

  • Regional Storage Hubs: Regional storage hubs were set up between Scotland and Southampton, reducing logistics drive time by 33% and improving team efficiency by 17%.
  • Innovative Logistics: Our install teams had to roll out the new display to between 10-30 stores each, making secure, conveniently accessible storage a critical need. Complex logistics had to be met to ensure display deliveries from global suppliers were received to strategic storage hubs, safely stored and readily available for 24/7 access ensuring flexibility to exceed SLAs.
  • Interactive Training: Owing to the display complexity & weight (c500kg) there were over 30 different components per installation, taking skilled teams of 2 people around 4 hours for every installation. To ensure uniformity across all teams, they needed to be briefed the same. We conducted a test installation of the new display at a single store. With this hands-on approach, it allowed questions and knowledge testing through gamification, ensuring consistent, high-quality installations across the 155 stores.
  • Clear and transparent reporting: Our bespoke online reporting tool provided greater visibility for the key stakeholders. Channel Assist Project Managers, BOSE and Currys could all see the installations live (including in-store manager signoffs, photographs, videos, installer GPS check in). This ensured 100% regulatory compliance and provided BOSE global 24-7, real-time access for greater visibility and project management.
